  • Synthesis of new, functional materials for electronics and optoelectronics including fused acenes and heteroacenes,
     
  • Organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms and new reagents containing heteroatoms (P, S, N, Si)  including chemistry of heteroatom containing reactive  intermediates (carbanions, carbenes and radicals),
     
  • Total syntheses of biomolecules utilizing heteroatom reagents (cyclopentanoids, alkaloids, lignanoids, etc.),
     
  • Synthesis of heteronium salts including ionic liquids for  practical applications including investigations of their ecophytotoxic, herbicidal and cytotoxic activity.
