ADJUNCT in Bioorganic Chemistry Division

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE ADJUNCT POSITION IN BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION.

In the field of organic and/or heteroorganic chemistry of cyclic and aromatic compounds

1. Scientific research in which the candidate will participate:

• Conducting research in the field of organic and heteroorganic chemistry of cyclic and aromatic compounds, with the emphasis on chemical synthesis supported by theoretical calculations;
• Preparation and presentation of a research project in a topic compatible with the topics implemented at CBMM PAN in Łódź;
• Preparation of a grant application to one of the national or international agencies;
• Readiness to create a research team and supervise junior employees involved in work on the proposed topic.

2. Conditions that must be met by the candidate:

• Ph.D. in chemistry or related fields;
• Scientific achievements in the field of organic and/or heteroorganic compounds and organic functional materials, published in journals from the JRC list;
• At least 2 years post-graduate experience in a foreigner Institution;
• Ability to independently perform organic synthesis and analyze results using spectroscopic techniques;
• Experience in preparing applications for funding the related research, also application for National Science Center (Poland);
• Documented participation in national and international conferences on the topics specified in p. 1, combined with presentation of own results;
• Fluent knowledge of English, both written and spoken;
• Ability to work in a team and strong motivation for research work.

3. Required Documents:

• Application;
• Curriculum Vitae;
• Copies of obtained diplomas, including a PhD diploma in chemical or related sciences;
• Research project of organic/or heteroorganic synthesis of cyclic and aromatic compounds;
• List of publications and conference communications;
• At least two opinions prepared by scientists (professors or D.Sc.).

5. The competition will be concluded by 13 March 2025.
6. The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code for an indefinite period or under a fixed-term contract.
