POST-DOC in NCN MAESTRO-12 Project

Announcement on the POST-DOC in an NCN MAESTRO-12 Project (No. DEC-2020/38/A/ST4/00597) Advanced functional materials form organic paramagnetic building blocks”.

Position title: POST-DOC

Profile of candidates/requirements:

  1. PhD degree in Chemistry or related sciences approved or obtained within the past 5 years.
  2. Experience in organic synthesis and in organic materials; in particular experience with aromatic and heterocyclic compounds, and/or paramagnetic materials.
  3. Skills and experience in conducting physical-organic research with particular emphasis on spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV-vis), electrochemistry, and DFT calculations.
  4. Ability to conduct independent research and full analysis of the obtained materials.
  5. Documented scientific achievements in the area of organic chemistry or organic materials chemistry.
  6. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  7. Teamwork skills, enthusiasm and high motivation to expand knowledge.

Project description:

The POST-DOC researcher will participate in a research project focused on synthesis and characterization of stable radicals, diradicals, liquid crystals and dichroic dyes. POST-DOC will also be responsible for:

– direct supervision of a PhD student,

– reporting research results,

– preparation of scientific publications.

The conditions of employment:
Full-time position: 10 000,00 PLN gross/gross/month

The deadline for competition: 20.03.2025

Applications submitted before the deadline will be considered by the Search Committee. The Search Committee will evaluate the candidates taking into account their scientific achievements, publications, professional experience and preparation for work in the project. Based on the resulting ranking list, the candidate with the highest number of points will be recommended for the postdoctoral position. In case of resignation of this candidate, the Committee recommends the next person from the ranking list.

Employment period: one year with the possibility of renewing the contract for another year.

Required documents:

  1. A cover letter.
  2. CV with a list of scientific achievements, scholarships, awards and scientific experience acquired during previous work, workshops, scientific training, and participation in research projects.
  3. A full list of publications including citation number (without self-citations) and H-index.
  4. A copy of the diploma or an official document confirming the acceptance of the PhD theses by the Committee.
  5. At least two letters of recommendation from previous supervisors.
