Announcement on the PhD STUDENT scholarship in the NCN OPUS-25 (2023/49/B/ST4/03288 )
„Theoretical prediction, chemical synthesis and biological analysis of a novel class of HSPA5 inhibitors”

Position: PhD Student computational biology

Project description:

1. Computational search for new HSPA5 inhibitors;
2. In-silico study of ligand interactions with the protein;
3. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics;
4. Participation in the editing and preparation of scientific publications;
5. Presentation of research results at national and international conferences.

Requirements:

1. Completed Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related field within the last 5 years or declaration of completion of Master’s degree before September 30th 2026;
2. Knowledge of English enabling the use of English literature;
3. Experience in laboratory work (e.g. internship, professional practice or other);
4. Motivation for scientific work;
5. Ability to work in Linux environment;
6. Experience in working with molecular docking or molecular dynamics will be an additional asset.

The conditions of employment:

• The location of project: Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Division of Bioorganic Chemistry
• The leader of the project: Prof. dr. hab. Arkadiusz Chworoś
• The condition for being awarded the scholarship will be the status of a PhD student or qualification for the BioMedChem doctoral school.

• The deadline for submitting offers: continuous recruitment until 28.02.2026, can be terminated earlier.
• The final date of the contest: Applications will be considered during continuous screening in the order in which they were submitted until position is fulfilled. 
• Contract commencement date: October 2026
