PhD scholarship in a NCN OPUS16 Project

Announcement on the PhD scholarship in an NCN OPUS16 Project (UMO-2018/31/B/ST/01969) “Application of weak covalent bonds for the preparation of reversible polymer networks and lactide copolymers”

Position title: a PhD student

Requirements:

– Master of Science degree in chemistry or related sciences received in the last 5 years
– To be able to apply for a PhD program in Lodz
– Experience in organic chemistry; The knowledge within polymer chemistry
will be preferred
– Knowledge of analytical techniques, such as NMR, UV, IR
– Good written and spoken English

Task description:

– Preparation of reagents, initiators and comonomers necessary for the synthesis of lactide polymers
– Synthesis of copolymers of lactide with vinyl monomers
– Analysis of the structure and thermal properties of obtained copolymers, study of their degradation
– Preparation of reports, publications and materials for the presentation at scientific conferences
– Required classes as a PhD student.

Conditions:

NCN scholarship: 4500 PLN / month for 33 months.

– CV – the list of scientific achievements, including publications, scholarships, awards
and scientific experience acquired during previous scholarships, workshops and scientific training, participation in research projects
