AN ASSISTANT POSITION in Division of Organic Chemistry

Director of the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies Polish Academy of Sciences in Lodz announces ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE in the Division of Organic Chemistry.

POSITION IN THE FIELD OF THE APPLICATION OF FLOW METHODS IN THE ASYMMETRIC SYNTHESIS OF CHIRAL AND ACHIRAL HETEROORGANIC COMPOUNDS.

 

Research and other works in which the candidate will participate:

  • Synthesis of relevant heteroorganic substrates
  • Preparation of microreactors, optimization of the reaction conditions
  • Purification of organic compunds
  • Planning and performing experiments based on flow chemistry directed towards the synthesis of chiral, non-racemic heteroorganic derivatives, including sulfur and phosphorus compounds
  • Isolation of the products from crude reaction mixtures using physicochemical methods, including chromatography.
  • Determination of the structures of products via spectroscopic analyses (NMR, MS) and of their enantiomeric excess (NMR, HPLC, GC)
  • Preparation of grants, publications, monographs and patents in Polish and English.

Requirements for the Candidate:

  • Master of Science degree in chemistry or relative fields,
  • Documented research achievements (publications in the JCR list) in the field described in subsection 1.,
  • Documented capability to plan and conduct research and to effectively prepare research projects; participation in at least 2 projects related to the topic,
  • Expert knowledge of the research techniques listed above, including interpretation of the results,
  • Documented participation in national and international conferences devoted to the areas indicated above, combined with the presentation of own results, preferably as oral communications,
  • Knowledge of English, allowing for free using of professional literature, writing grant projects, original publications, monographs and patents.

During the competition procedure, candidates may be invited for interview and seminar presentation.

The successful candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Labor Law for limited or unlimited time.

Status:  Full-time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week
