ASSISTANT SCIENTIST POSSITION IN BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN ŁÓDŹ, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR ASSISTANT SCIENTIST POSSITION IN BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

The position is related to the research on the role of extracellular vesicles in immunomodulation and cancer.

 1. The research in which a candidate will be involved:

• experience in studying extracellular vesicles (exosomes) – isolation, characteristics, analysis);
• maintaining cell culture, including normal and cancer cells;
• gene knockout using CRISPR/Cas9;
• measuring gene editing efficiency using enzymatic digestion;
• biochemical studies on proteins (measuring concentration using Bradford and BCA methods, staining proteins in gel, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, Western blot);
• DNA analysis using PCR;
• biochemical studies of extracellular vesicles using a fluorescent plate reader and a flow cytometer;
• statistical analysis of the obtained results;
• preparation of reports and scientific publications.

2. Required qualifications and criteria to be met by a candidate:

• PhD Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related disciplines, or a commitment to obtaining a doctoral degree within 6 months of assuming the position;
• documented scientific background related to extracellular vesicles, including at least two papers in peer-reviewed journals;
• ability to work independently in the field of cell culture;
• experimental experience in the techniques related to the listed above;
• documented participation in national and international conferences devoted to topics specified in paragraph above;
• fluent English in speech and writing;
• ability to work in a team and strong motivation for research work.
