ASSISTANT IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN ŁÓDŹ, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR ASSISTANT SCIENTIST POSSITION IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

A position involving work on the development of methods for the synthesis of acenes and (hetero)acenes, and the study of their material properties.

Keywords: synthesis, separation, measurements techniques, photo-physical properties.

 1. The area of the research in which the candidate will participate:

  • synthesis of multi-substituted acenes with donor-acceptor properties as high-efficiency light emitters;
  • investigation of the photophysical, electrochemical, and thermal properties of the obtained compounds using UV, PL, CV, DSC, and TGA techniques;
  • separation of crude reaction mixtures by physicochemical methods, including chromatographic techniques (classical, HPLC, flash);
  • determination of products structure by spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS, HRMS, UV, IR);
  • preparation of grant applications, publications, monographs and patents.

2. Conditions to be met by the candidate:

  • at least a master’s degree in chemical sciences;
  • proven scientific achievements, at least two publications, in the field of organic and heteroorganic synthesis, especially in the synthesis of fused aromatic and heteroaromatic hydrocarbons;
  • proven participation in realization of research projects;
  • proven knowledge of the research techniques listed in point 1, combined with the ability to interpret the results;
  • proven experience in writing scientific publications and presentation of results at scientific conferences;
  • proven knowledge of the English language to enable independent preparation of scientific publications, patent applications, and projects.

  • two recommendation letters prepared by independent researchers.

6.During the competition proceedings, candidates may be asked to present their past achievements in the form of a seminar at CMMS PAS.

7.The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code at the assistant position starting on October 1st 2025.
