POSITION OF ASSISTANT IN FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS AND POLYMER MATERIALS DIVISION

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN ŁÓDŹ, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR POSITION OF ASSISTANT IN FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS AND POLYMER MATERIALS DIVISION 

 1. The main objectives of the research will include:

  • Conducting research on the synthesis of polymers with accelerated degradability or polymer networks for biomedical applications;
  • studying the structure and properties of the obtained polymers and polymer networks using spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS, FT-IR, UV), thermal analysis (DSC, TGA), and microscopy (OM, SEM), etc., along with interpretation of the results;
  • experience in working with high vacuum techniques;
  • analysis of obtained results and preparation of publications in scientific journals, patent applications, and presentations for scientific conferences;
  • preparation of grant proposals for conducting research and purchasing research equipment.

2. Conditions required from the candidate:

  • At least a master’s degree in chemical, physical or related sciences;
  • proficiency in polymer chemistry and research techniques listed in the first section;
  • proven scientific achievements in the synthesis of polymers or polymeric materials, including at least four publications in JCR-listed journals;
  • experience in scientific project implementation;
  • documented participation in national and international conferences, combined with presentation of own research results;
  • knowledge of English to be able to freely use professional literature, write grant projects, original publications, monographs and patents.

3. Required documents:

  • Application/motivation letter with a description of the plan for the development of a scientific career (max. 2 A4 pages) in the Functional Polymers and Polymer Materials Division, CMMS PAS;
  • CV/scientific resume;
  • Copy of Master’s/PhD diploma;
  • List of publications and other scientific achievements;
  • Two opinions prepared by advisors/supervisors.

5. The recruitment will be decided before 01.09.2025.

6. During the competition procedure candidates may be asked to present their results and a description of the plan for the development of a scientific career at CMMS PAS.

7. The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Labour Law for an indefinite or definite period.

8. We reserve the right to cancel the competition without giving a reason.
