POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT IN BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN ŁÓDŹ, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT IN BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

in the field of tRNA epitranscriptomics
Keywords: tRNA epitranscriptomics, modified nucleosides, tRNA, proteins involved in tRNA processing, modified nucleic acids

 1. Key responsibilities

1. Design of modified oligonucleotides, their purification and structural characterization;
2. Preparation of gene constructs for overexpression;
3. Production of recombinant proteins and their purification;
4. Analysis of protein preparations, testing their enzymatic activity and stability (RP-HPLC, LC-MS, sequencing, SDS-PAGE, agarose, Western blot, ELISA, protein staining in the gel);
5. Cultivating cell lines and isolating genetic material from them;
6. Isolation of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) from biological material and their analysis.

2. Requirements

1. PhD degree in chemistry or related sciences;
2. Documented scientific achievements in the fields listed in the first point, including at least three publications in journals from the JCR list;
3. Experience in the synthesis of recombinant proteins and research on their cellular functions;
4. Experience in the design, synthesis and purification of synthetic oligonucleotides;
5. Proficient knowledge of research techniques in the field of molecular biology and human cell culture;
6. Participation in national and international conferences;
7. Knowledge of spoken and written English at a level enabling the effective use of professional literature and participation in international conferences;

3. Required documents:

2. CV containing information about education, scientific achievements and previous places of work;
3. List of publications and conference announcements;
4. A copy of the diploma confirming possession of the required academic degree;
5. Opinion of a research supervisor who has been providing supervision for at least 6 months during the last 5 years;
6. Documents confirming the fulfillment of other requirements specified in the announcement of the competition for the position of assistant (optional).
