TWO POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN ŁÓDŹ, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR TWO POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY DIVISION

A position involving work on the development of methods for the synthesis of organic and heteroorganic compounds, the study of their material and eco(phyto)toxicological properties.

 1. The area of the research in which the candidate would participate:

  • Synthesis of organic and heteroorganic compounds (positions 1 and 2);
  • Study of the properties of the obtained compounds for use as high-performance light emitters (position 1);
  • Eco(phyto)toxicity studies of low- and higher molecular weight, organic compounds. (position 2);
  • Study of photophysical and thermal properties of the obtained compounds (UV spectroscopy, fluorimetry, DSC,TGA), (position1);
  • Separation of crude reaction mixtures by physicochemical methods, including chromatographic techniques, (positions 1 i 2);
  • Determination of products structure by spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS, HRMS, UV, IR), (positions 1 i 2);
  • Preparation of grant applications, publications, monographs and patents in Polish and English, (positions 1 i 2).

2. Conditions to be met by the candidate

  • Possession of at least a master’s degree in chemical sciences;
  • Proven experience, in organic synthesis;
  • Participation in realization of research projects welcomed;
  • Knowledge of the research techniques listed in 1. combined with the ability to interpret the results;
  • Proven experience in writing scientific publications and documented presentation of results at scientific conferences;
  • Knowledge of the English language to enable independent preparation of scientific publications;
  • Desirable knowledge of the Polish language, both spoken and written.

3. Required documents:

  • Application;
  • Scientific curriculum vitae;
  • List of publications and conference presentations;
  • Copies of obtained diplomas;
  • Two opinions prepared by independent researchers.

5. The competition will be adjudicated by 19.07.2024

6. During the competition proceedings, candidates may be asked to present their past achievements in the form of a seminar at CMMS PAS.

7. The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code for an indefinite period of time or under a term contract.

8. CMMS PAS does not provide housing;

9. We reserve the right to cancel the competition without giving reasons.
