POST-DOC in NCN SONATA BIS-14

The competition is open for PhD student  in the NCN SONATA BIS-14 Project (No. 2024/54/E/ST11/00168)
“Supramolecular nanoparticles able to block calcium channels in cancer cells”

Position: POST-DOC

Project description:

• Synthesizing copolymers of cyclic monomers with allyl glycidyl ether and performing their functionalization using click chemistry techniques;
• Fabricating nanoparticles of specific sizes and structures using microfluidics, nanoprecipitation, and other advanced methods;
• Analyzing the structure, properties, and stability of the obtained copolymers and nanoparticles using techniques such as NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM, and DLS;
• Encapsulating target active substances and evaluating their release kinetics from the developed nanocarriers;
• Supervising PhD students and providing technical guidance in the laboratory;
• Reporting research progress and documenting experimental results;
• Presenting research findings at national and international scientific conferences;
• Drafting and editing high-quality scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements:

1. Doctoral degree obtained within 12 years before January 1st of the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended by:
• The duration of long-term sickness or rehabilitation benefits.
• The number of months spent on childcare or parental leave.
• In the case of women, an additional 18 months for each born or adopted child (in accordance with Annex No. 2 to NCN Council Resolution No. 115/2024 of November 14, 2024);
2. Experience in polymer synthesis, functionalization, and/or the synthesis of small-molecule compounds;
3. Knowledge of analytical methods for chemical compounds and polymers, including NMR, FTIR, GPC, DSC, TGA, SEM, and DLS;
4. Skills and experience in polymer nanoparticle fabrication techniques, with a particular emphasis on microfluidics and nanoprecipitation;
5. Very good command of English (both written and spoken);
6. Ability to work independently, including designing experiments and conducting comprehensive data analysis;
7. Documented scientific achievements in the fields of polymer chemistry and drug delivery systems;
8. Openness to interdisciplinary collaboration;
9. Strong motivation for scientific research and a creative approach to problem-solving.

The conditions of employment:

Employment contract for two years: PLN 11,600.00/month gross/gross

The location of the project: Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, Division of Functional Polymers and Polymeric Materials
