Adjunct position in Bioorganic Chemistry Division

DIRECTOR OF CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN LODZ ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE ADJUNCT POSITION in Bioorganic Chemistry Division.

(position includes interdisciplinary research in the field of chemistry, biochemistry and cellular research on inflammatory processes in neoplastic diseases and infections, particularly in the area of intracellular signaling and signal transduction between cells.)

1.Scientific research and other works, which a candidate will participate in:

  • proposing and executing pioneering studies in cell biology, in particular focused on the aspect of human diseases;
  • management of the research team operating in the above areas;
  • the development of current and exploring new fields of research;
  • development of the methodology and training of scientific personnel;
  • raising funds for research and new modern research equipment;
  • supervision of PhD students and graduate students during vacation training;
  • active participation in development of scientific research in the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry including the contribution to increasing the number of Institute’s publications.

2.Terms and conditions to be met by a candidate:

  • PhD degree in biology, bioorganic chemistry or related sciences;
  • confirmed academic achievements (publications in journals with Impact Factor) in the field of chemistry, biochemistry and biology with a preference for the planned research;
  • research experience gained in foreign scientific centers;
  • cooperation with other scientific groups, confirmed by joint publications;
  • participation in international conferences;
  • experimental skills in the areas of eukaryotic cell culture systems, gel electrophoresis, Western blot, flow cytometry. Previous experience with work and experiments on primary human cells;
  • experience in teaching graduates and doctoral students, including lectures for PhD students;
  • documented ability to apply for research projects and work in research teams;
  • organizational skills in science (e.g. organization of symposia and conferences);
  • the skills in English suitable for competent use of scientific literature and editing publications.

3. Required documents. Qualified researchers interested in applying for the position should submit the following documents:

  • copy of the PhD diploma;
  • contact details to two independent academics to prepare recommendations.
