PhD scholarship in an NCN MAESTRO-12 Project

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF THE PHD SCHOLARSHIP IN AN NCN MAESTRO-12 PROJECT (2020/38/A/ST4/00597) „Advanced functional materials form organic paramagnetic building blocks”.

The PhD student will participate in a 4-year-long research project focused on synthesis and physical-organic characterization of paramagnetic liquid crystal materials.

Profile of candidates/requirements:

1. Master of Science degree in chemistry or related sciences received within the past 3 years or a student of the final year of stationary studies;
2. Status of a PhD student at CMMS, PAS in Lodz or to be able to apply to Doctoral School;
3. Experience in organic chemistry;
4. Knowledge of analytical techniques, such as NMR, UV, IR, MS;
5. Fluent in written and spoken English.

Applications will be evaluated on continuous basis in the order in which they are received until the position is filled. The Recruitment Committee will evaluate the candidates taking into account their scientific achievements and preparation for work in the project. Based on received ranking list, the candidate with the highest number of points will be recommended for the postdoc position. In case of resignation of this candidate, the Committee recommends the next person from the ranking list. The scholarship can be paid upon reaching the status of a doctoral student at the Doctoral School.

2. CV – a list of scientific achievements, which include publications, scholarships, awards and scientific experience acquired during previous scholarships, workshops and scientific training, and participation in research projects.
3. A copy of the diploma or official document confirming the obtaining of M.Sc. degree or a formal letter confirming the status of student in the final year of graduate studies in chemistry or related sciences.
4. At least one letter of recommendation from previous supervisors.
