ASSISTANT-1 in Structural Chemistry Division

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT-1 IN STRUCTURAL CHEMISTRY DIVISION.

  1. The main objectives of the research will include:
  • Preparation of co-crystals by mechanochemistry, co-crystallization, and thermal method.
  • Development of effective methods of loading guest molecules and loading selected drugs and co-crystals into the pores of mesoporous silica using mechanochemical methods, diffusion process, and thermal solvent-free method (TSF).
  • Structural analysis of the obtained systems using solid state NMR (SSNMR) spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, FT-IR, PXRD, and nitrogen adsorption, including interpretation of the results.
  • Investigation of the release kinetics of selected drugs and co-crystals from a mesoporous carrier.
  • Preparation of grant projects, publications, texts of monographs, and patent applications in Polish and English.
  1. Conditions required from the candidate:
  • PhD degree in chemical or related sciences.
  • Completed a postdoctoral fellowship.
  • Documented ability to raise funds for research projects from external institutions.
  • Documented scientific achievements, including patents and publications in journals from the Philadelphia list.
  • Ability to independently plan, conduct research, and prepare research projects, participating in at least one project thematically related to the position.
  • Proficient knowledge of the research techniques listed in the first point.
  • Documented participation in national and international conferences, combined with the presentation of own results.
  • Knowledge of English, allowing you to freely use professional literature, and write grant projects, original publications, monographs, and patents.

  3. During the competition procedure candidates may be asked to present their results obtained so far in the form of a seminar at CMMS PAS.
  4. The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Labour Law for an indefinite or definite period.
