Competition for the position of adjunct in Functional Polymers and Polymer Materials Division.

Director of Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies Polish Academy of Sciences in Lodz announces competition for the position of adjunct in Functional Polymers and Polymer Materials Division.

Position connected with research in the field of cross-linked polymer materials.

1. The main objectives of the research will include:

• Conducting research on the synthesis and analysis of the physicochemical properties of cross-linked polymeric materials, including hydrogel materials, with a major focus on polymer networks built using dynamic cross-links; conducting research on the synthesis of new polyether and polyester materials of natural origin for the manufacture of polymer networks.
• Co-supervising of PhD theses.
• Preparation of research grant applications.
• Writing reports and scientific publications.

2. Conditions required from the candidate:

• PhD degree in chemistry or related sciences.
• Documented scientific achievements in the field of cross-linked polymer materials, especially concerning the areas mentioned above in point 1 (publications in journals with Impact Factor and patents).
• Skill and experience in the study of the structure and physical properties of polymers and polymer networks with particular emphasis on knowledge of methods for studying rheological properties.
• Proven ability to obtain funds for research and research equipment.
• Experience in preparation of research grant applications.
• Ability to work in research teams.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English enabling independent preparation of scientific publications.
• Experience in supervising students, graduates.
• Speaking and writing in Polish language is appreciated.

6. During the competition procedure, candidates may be asked to present their achievements in the form of a seminar at CMMS PAS.
7. The selected candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Labour Law for an indefinite or definite period.
