PROFESSOR POSITION in the Division of Structural Chemistry

DIRECTOR OF CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF PROFESSOR in the Division of Structural Chemistry

(The position is connected with research in the field of structural studies of condensed matter and development of chemistry and physics of solid state.)

1. Offer and research activities associated with the position include:

• research in the field of solving complex problems in structural chemistry using solid-state NMR spectroscopy, X-Ray diffraction techniques and computational methods;
• active participation in the research areas conducted in the Division of Structural Chemistry CMMS PAS;
• work in a newly equipped laboratory of CMMS PAS, which among others owns four Bruker NMR spectrometers ((2 x 400 MHz, 500 MHz and 600 MHz) equipped in the state-of-the-art probe heads dedicated to solid-state measurements (1.3, 2.5, 3.2 and 4 mm), Rigaku XtaLAB Synergy-S diffractometer for single crystal X-Ray measurements and Panalytical Empyrean;
• possibility of creating a new research group;
• training of scientific personnel and supervision of doctoral theses.

2. Conditions required from the candidate:

• PhD and habilitation degrees in the field of chemical sciences or related areas (physical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, technological sciences);
• experience in research in structural chemistry of organic or/and inorganic compounds, and/or computational chemistry;
• fluency in English;
• documented knowledge on solid-state NMR spectroscopy and/or X-Ray diffraction techniques and/or computational methods used in the field of chemistry and physics of condensed matter;
• scientific achievements documented with original publications published in international journals from Philadelphia List with high IF);
• documented international experience (at least 6 moths work in an abroad laboratory);
• documented experience in acquiring funds for scientific research;
• teaching experience, including supervising PhD and Master candidates.

3. Required documents:

• list of publications and other scientific achievements;
• copy of habilitation diploma;
• two recommendations from professors or associated professors .

5. The recruitment will be decided before 02.04.2021.

6. During the competition procedure the selected candidates may be asked to present their results obtained so far and  future projects in the form of a seminar at CMMS PAS.

7. The successful candidate will be employed in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Labour Law for an indefinite or definite period.

8. We reserve the right to cancel the competition without giving reason.
