PhD scholarship in the NCN OPUS 19 Project

Announcement on the PhD scholarship in the NCN (National Science Centre, Poland) OPUS19 a competition for the NCN PhD scholarship within the NCN OPUS 19 project, entitled: “Amphiphilic networks derived from poly(isopropenyl-2-oxazoline) and aliphatic polyesters as multifunctional materials with tailor-made properties“ in the Divison of Polymer Department, the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, Lodz, Poland.

Name of the position: a PhD student

Requirements:

1.  Completed Master’s degree in chemistry or in related disciplines, in the last 3 years.
2.  Willingness to participate in the Doctoral School in Łódź.
3.  Experience in organic chemistry; the knowledge within polymer chemistry and technical microbiology will be preferred.
4.  Knowledge of analytical techniques (NMR, MS, UV, IR, DSC, TGA).
5.  Good written and spoken English.

Task description:

The works, conducted according to the project schedule, will include:

1.  Preparation of reagents required for the synthesis of network precursors.
2.  Synthesis and characterization of networks containing poly(isopropenyl-2-oxazoline) and selected aliphatic polyesters.
3.  Studies on the application of selected networks including drug loading/release tests, investigation of the antimicrobial properties, and the testing ability for ion sorption from solution.
4.  Preparation of reports, publications and materials for the presentation at scientific conferences.
5.  Required classes as a PhD student.
