PhD student position in NCN MAESTRO-12 Project

Announcement on the PhD scholarship in an NCN MAESTRO-12 Project (No. DEC-2020/38/A/ST4/00597) „Advanced functional materials from organic paramagnetic building blocks”.

Position title: a PhD scholarship

Profile of candidates/requirements:

1. Master of Science degree in chemistry or related sciences;
2. Status of a PhD student or to be able to apply to Doctoral School;
3. Experience in organic chemistry;
4. Knowledge of analytical techniques, such as NMR, UV, IR, MS;
5. Fluent in written and spoken English;

Project description:

The PhD student will participate in a research project focused on synthesis and physical-organic characterization of two unique classes of paramagnetic materials.

Applications will be considered on continuous basis in the order in which they are received until the position is filled. The Recruitment Committee will evaluate the candidates taking into account their scientific achievements and preparation for work in the project. Based on received ranking list, the candidate with the highest number of points will be recommended for the postdoc position. In case of resignation of this candidate, the Committee recommends the next person from the ranking list. A requisite for the payment of the scholarship is that the candidate has achieved the status of a doctoral student at the Doctoral School.

1. A cover letter.
2. CV – a list of scientific achievements, which include publications, scholarships, awards and scientific experience acquired during previous scholarships, workshops and scientific training, and participation in research projects.
3. A copy of the diploma or official document confirming the obtaining of M.Sc. degree or a formal letter confirming the status of student in the final year of graduate studies in chemistry or related sciences.
4. At least one letter of recommendation from previous supervisors.
