Announcement on the POST-DOC in NCN OPUS-26 Project (No. DEC 2023/51/B/ST5/02113) „Chiral diradicals: Paramagnetic building blocks for advanced materials.”

Position in the project: a POST-DOC

Profile of candidates/requirements:

1. PhD degree in Chemistry or related sciences approved or obtained within the past 5 years;
2. Experience in organic synthesis and in organic materials; in particular experience with heterocyclic compounds and/or paramagnetic and liquid crystals materials;
3. Skills and experience in conducting physical-organic research with particular emphasis on spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV-vis), electrochemistry, thermal characterization;
4. Ability to conduct independent research and full analysis of the obtained materials;
5. Documented scientific achievements in the area of organic chemistry or organic materials chemistry;
6. Proficiency in spoken and written English;
7. Teamwork skills, enthusiasm and high motivation to expand knowledge.

Project description:

The POST-DOC researcher will participate in a 4-year-long research project focused on synthesis and characterization of organic chiral paramagnetic compounds. It involves organic synthesis and comprehensive analysis of stable radicals with spectroscopic (EPR, UV vis, NIR, chirooptical), electrochemical, magnetic and computational methods. The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

– direct supervision of a PhD student;

– data analysis,

– reporting research results;

– preparation of scientific publications.

The conditions of employment:

Full-time position: 11,666 PLN gross/gross/month
