ASSISTANT-2 in Polymeric Nano-Materials Division

DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE OF MOLECULAR AND MACROMOLECULAR STUDIES, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT-2 IN POLYMERIC NANO-MATERIALS DIVISION.

1. The main objectives of the research will include:

• Physical and chemical modification of semicrystalline polymers, including biodegradable ones;
• Analysis of the structure, barrier, thermal and mechanical properties of polymeric materials in the context of understanding the role of the amorphous phase using various experimental techniques, including X-ray diffractometry (WAXS, SAXS), thermal analysis (DSC, DMTA, TGA, OIT), spectroscopy (NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis) and microscopy (PLM, SEM, AFM);
• Analysis of micromechanisms activated in the area of the amorphous/crystalline phase during deformations of semicrystalline polymers;
• Co-supervising PhD student;
• Presentation of project results in the form of reports, oral presentation;
• Preparation of grant projects, scientific publications and patent applications in Polish and English.

2. Conditions required from the candidate:

• PhD degree in chemical, technical or related sciences.
• Documented scientific achievements in the fields listed in the first point, including at least three papers published in journals from JCR (Philadelphia) list.
• Proficiency in research techniques listed in the first point.
• Documented participation in national and international conferences, combined with the presentation of own results.
• Ability to work independently: planning and execution of experiments; analysis and presentation of results.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of English, allowing you to freely use professional literature, write grant projects, original publications and patents.
