Obszary badawcze:

Figura 1.

Figura 4. Oxidative desulfuration of mcm5S2U in the wobble position of tRNA found in and human cells.
Figura 5. SelU catalyzes conversion of 2-thiouridine-tRNA (R5S2U-tRNA) to 2-selenouridine-tRNA (R5Se2U-tRNA) via S-geranyl-tRNA (R5geS2U-tRNA), the intermediate closely bound to the enzyme.

Figura 6. Katalizowane za pomoca białka HINT-1 dGMPSe do dGMP i H2Se.

Figura 7. Odmienne zachowanie selenu podczas utleniania w białkach zawierających selenocysteinę oraz w RNA zawierającym 2-selenourydynę w obecności glutationu. Utlenianie Se2U-RNA prowadzi do powstawania trwałych pochodnych stabilizujących RNA, w przeciwieństwie do odwracalnej redukcji utlenionych reszt białkowych przez glutation.

Figura 8.
