Scientific career:

  • 2010 – MSc (Biotechnology) – Technical University of Denmark, Technical University of Lodz
  • 2016 – PhD (Biotechnology) – University of Helsinki (Finland)
  • 2016 – onwards – specialist and group leader at CMMS PAS

Current research area:

I have been studying human innate immunity, with particular interest in biogenesis of extracellular vesicles (EV) and their roles in mediating inflammatory responses.  The key questions of my research are how intracellular signaling pathways cross-talk in generation of EV and how are  particular cargos recruited to secreted vesicles. This is particularly relevant for understanding the roles vesicle-mediated signal transduction in immune-related diseases, such as inflammation, cancer etc. Currently I am involved in research covering the secretion and composition modulation of EV secreted in various models of inflammation in human primary cells (National Science Centre grant no. 2018/28/C/NZ6/00069).

  • Canonical and non-canonical inflammasome signaling in human leukocytes
  • Proteomics of extracellular vesicles
  • Novel signaling in regulation of inflammatory responses and EV secretion
